Evaporator

Heat exchanger where the liquid refrigerant absorbs heat from the medium to be cooled and evaporates.

The Evaporator is the refrigeration system component where heat absorption occurs - it's where the "magic" of cooling happens.

Operation

  1. Liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator at low pressure and temperature
  2. Passing through the coil, it absorbs heat from the medium (water or air)
  3. The refrigerant evaporates, becoming gas
  4. The medium (water or air) is cooled
