Condenser

Heat exchanger where the refrigerant in gaseous state releases heat to the external environment and transforms into liquid.

The Condenser is the component responsible for rejecting the heat absorbed in the evaporator plus the heat generated by the compressor to the external environment.

Operation

  1. Hot refrigerant gas (high pressure) enters the condenser
  2. Heat is transferred to cooling air or water
  3. The refrigerant condenses, becoming liquid
  4. The liquid proceeds to the expansion valve
